GUIDES / ADOBE INDESIGN

How to replace JPG links with TIFF files in InDesign.

Swap linked JPG images for TIFF files with the same names, without walking the Links panel one by one.

01 / NATIVE INDESIGN

Relink each file, or one folder.

Select a JPG in the Links panel, choose Relink, and pick the TIFF with the same name. Repeat. Relink to Folder can help if both formats sit in the same folder with matching filenames, but InDesign does not batch-change extensions for you.

02 / WHEN THAT ISN’T ENOUGH

A whole document of JPGs.

Print files often arrive as JPG and later as TIFF. Doing that swap by hand is slow, and it is easy to miss a file.

03 / SIROKO LABS

Match the name, change the extension.

Smart Relinker Pro can replace groups of assets using filename, extension and matching criteria — same file or a new extension — and preview the replacements before applying them. Lite is for straightforward missing-link recovery, not batch extension swaps.
